The free plugin calculates everything in your shop’s base currency. If customers can switch to another currency, the notice would show a base-currency amount next to a price in another currency. Cartnorm Pro fixes this.
Supported currency switchers
Pro detects these automatically:
- WPML Multi-currency (WooCommerce Multilingual)
- Aelia Currency Switcher
- CURCY (Multi Currency for WooCommerce by VillaTheme)
- FOX / WOOCS (WooCommerce Currency Switcher)
If none is detected, you can enter manual exchange rates instead. They are off by default.
Two ways prices can be set in other currencies
- Converted prices. The switcher converts your base price with an exchange rate. Pro converts the 30-day reference with the same switcher, so the notice matches what the customer sees.
- Prices set by hand. With WPML custom prices, for example, a product can cost €39.99 and $44.00 independently. Pro keeps a separate 30-day history for each such currency, so the reference, the fake discount guard and the percentage badge are all calculated in that currency.
If a reference cannot be converted reliably, Pro hides the notice rather than showing a wrong amount.
Setup
- Install and activate the free plugin, then install Cartnorm Pro from the download link in your purchase email.
- Activate your licence when Pro asks for it.
- Open WooCommerce › Settings › Products › Lowest price (Omnibus) and scroll to Cartnorm Pro: multi-currency.
- Check that your switcher appears under Detected currency switcher, and turn on Multi-currency.
Notes
- Some switchers convert amounts inside WooCommerce’s own price formatting. Pro detects this and does not convert twice.
- With WPML, history is kept on the product in the original language, so translations share it.
